Urban Legacy Day · The Mission
One Million Families.
One Document at a Time.
Three organizations. One shared conviction: that every family that has worked to build valuable assets deserves the legal protection to pass that legacy, and the security built alongside it, to the next generation.

Families to Serve

one estate document at a time
READ THE STORY
"The wealth took decades to build. The document takes an afternoon to create. The barrier has never been time — it's been access."
The Problem We're Solving
Decades of Work.
Lost in a Weekend.
Homeownership is the cornerstone of wealth in America. For generations of Black, Hispanic, and underserved families, purchasing a home wasn't just a transaction — it was a declaration. A statement that said: we are building something that will outlast us.
But a home without an estate plan is a home with a fragile future. Without a will or trust, that property doesn't automatically pass to your children. It enters probate — a costly, time-consuming legal process that can drain estate value, invite family disputes, and in the worst cases, force the sale of a home that took a lifetime to earn.
The estate planning industry has historically served the affluent. Attorney fees, financial planner minimums, and the simple unfamiliarity of legal language have kept millions of homeowning families — families with real assets, real homes, real futures to protect — from accessing the tools that make wealth transfer possible.
Urban Legacy Day exists to close that gap. Urban Legacy Day was founded to bridge that gap — not through charity, but through the power of community. By uniting a coalition of purpose-driven organizations, we ensure that the wealth our communities have worked hard to build becomes a foundation for lasting generational impact.

The Coalition
Three Organizations.
One Table.
Urban Legacy Day is not a single organization's initiative. It is the deliberate union of three distinct forces — each with its own expertise, its own community, its own irreplaceable role. Together, they form something no one could build separately: a fully integrated pipeline from community trust to legal document to lasting financial legacy.
Financial Leadership
01
Wilson Wealth
Wilson Wealth is the financial architecture of Urban Legacy Day. Founded by Maurice L. Wilson — an engineer-turned-financial advisor whose philosophy is simple: money creates options, and options create freedom — Wilson Wealth brings institutional-grade financial planning to communities that have historically been underserved by the advisory industry.
Wilson Wealth leads the advisor network, structures the event sponsorship model, coordinates corporate partnerships, and ensures that every family who receives a document is connected to ongoing financial guidance. The firm's operational infrastructure is the spine of the entire program.
Community Infrastructure
02
Urban Financial Services Coalition
The Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC) serves as a vital professional bridge between the financial services industry and the communities we serve. As a key partner for Urban Legacy Day, UFSC leverages its deep network of experienced practitioners to ensure the highest standards of expertise and mentorship are integrated into the program.
Their members play an essential role in vetting the network of financial advisors, ensuring that every professional involved shares a dedicated commitment to cultural competency and generational wealth building.
Beyond their work with advisors, UFSC is dedicated to the professional growth of African Americans throughout the financial sector. By providing career development, mentorship, and fundamental financial education, they help practitioners expand their impact and career paths within the industry.
03
Legal Technology
BeyondWill
The digital estate planning platform is the technological engine that makes scale possible. Attorney-approved, legally binding, and designed for accessibility — this platform transforms the estate planning process from an expensive, multi-session legal engagement into a guided, dignified experience that can be completed at a community event.
The platform enables Urban Legacy Day to serve dozens of families in a single afternoon. Wills. Revocable living trusts. Healthcare directives. Financial powers of attorney. Each document produced with the legal integrity families deserve — and the accessibility they've never been offered before.
"Financial expertise without community trust doesn't reach the families who need it most. Community trust without legal infrastructure can't produce binding documents. Legal infrastructure without financial follow-through leaves families with paper but no path. Only together does the full picture emerge."

The Model
How It Works
Sponsors Fund Access
Corporate sponsors — financial institutions, employers, and community organizations — fund the cost of estate documents for participating families. One sponsor. Many legacies protected.
01
Families Register
Households with assets in the community register for the event. UFSC leads outreach through trusted local networks. Every registrant has assets with real assets to protect.
02
Documents Signed
At the Urban Legacy Day signing event, families complete attorney-approved wills, trusts, healthcare directives, and powers of attorney — with legal oversight and dignity.
03
Advisors Follow Through
Partner financial advisors connect with families post-event for wealth management consultations — turning a single document into the foundation of a generational financial plan.

The Vision
Not a Program.
A Movement.
Urban Legacy Day launched in Indianapolis. But Indianapolis is not the destination — it is the proof of concept. The proof that when financial expertise, community trust, and legal technology come together in the right way, something transformational happens in a single afternoon.
The goal is one million families. Not in one city. Not in one year. Across 50 states, through hundreds of events, in every community where households have built something worth protecting, and simply never had access to the tools to protect it.
Every signed document is not just a legal instrument. It is a declaration. It says: this home goes to my children. This savings account goes to my spouse. This business continues in the hands I choose. This life — and everything I built in it — has been intentionally directed. Not left to chance. Not lost to probate. Not consumed by legal fees. Passed on. With purpose.
